In Elgin, Remembrance Day will begin at 10am with the High Street closed off to traffic from North College Street up to St Giles Church. The parade will form outside the Thurso Legion at 10.30am before marching down to the war memorial in Sir John’s Square for the two-minute silence at 11am.Ī service will take place at 11.30am at St Peter’s & St Andrew’s Church before heading back to the Legion club for refreshments. Refreshments will be available back a the Legion club at noon. The parade will then set off from the Legion club on Burnside Road and then head down to the Aviemore war memorial located on Cairngorm Avenue at 10.55am. Motorists are being advised to come early to the event to avoid the parade which will march from the lay-by south of the memorial car park at 2.45pm. In Fort William, a parade is scheduled to leave Viewforth car park at around 10.45am and will pass in front of the Legion club before marching to the war memorial.
